Zebra Cake

Zebra Cake is a great delightful tiffin for kids as they have a taste of both chocolate and vanilla flavours. It is usually Marble Cake which is a cake with a streaked or mottled appearance (like marble) achieved by very lightly blending light and dark batter. It can be a mixture of vanilla and chocolate cake, in which case it is mainly vanilla, with streaks of chocolate. Other possibilities are strawberry or other fruit flavors, or (particularly in marbled coffee cakes) cinnamon or other spices.
The first print references to marble cake begin appearing in the last quarter of the 19th century. One popular variation of this recipe during Victorian times was “Harlequin cake,” which was baked with checkerboard patterns. Early recipes used molasses and spices to achieve the dark-colored batter. Lets get started.

Now comes the fun part  i.e.baking
(For the oven bakers)
Preheat your oven at 180 degrees centigrade for 15-20 minutes.
Bake for 20-35 minutes untill a skewer is inserted and it comes out clean.
Check in between after 20 minutes

(For without oven bakers)
Preheat your pressure cooker/patila/kadhai or wok for 15 minutes by adding salt in it. Put a wire stand  or a bowl so that it maintains a distance from direct heat because if it gets direct heat it may burn.
After preheating bake it for 35-40 minutes untill a skewer is inserted and it comes out clean.
Check in between after 30 minutes
After baking take it out and let it cool for some time.
Demould and serve your kids as a tiffin with hot milk or coffee or as it is.
