Thandai Recipie.. How to make Thandai at home.. Holi Special Thandai Recipie

Thandai recipie. Another Holi special recipie i.e. Thandai. Before we start, here are some cool facts related to this drink. Thandai is quite popular in the North and is a summer coolant too! it is also referred to as ‘Bhang.’ Bhang is the official drink of Holi. Bhang is a thick drink prepared with flower heads of cannabis and is served during the Holi season. On the other hand, Thandai is the non-alchoholic version, and as kids, we were strictly served Thandai.

LETS CHECK ITS INGREDIENTS 


Whole milk-4cups

Powdered sugar-1/4th cup
Rose Water-1tbsp
Water-3/4th cup

THANDAI MASALA INGREDIENTS 



Cashew nuts-1 tsp

Melon Seeds (chaar magaz)-1/2 teaspoon 

Saffron strands-1/2 teaspoon

 Cinnamon Powder-1/2 teaspoon 

Nutmeg Powder- 2 teaspoon

 Rose petal spread(gulkand)-1.5 teaspoon 

Fennel seeds powder-1.5 teaspoon

 Cardamom Powder-1/2 teaspoon

 Poppy Seeds- 1/2tsp

 Almonds-12 pieces

 Pistachios-15pieces

 Black Peppercorns-3pieces


PROCEDURE:-

Heat 5 tbsp milk and add saffrom strands and let it soak for 15-20 minutes. Stir well. Soaking them in hot milk releases its colour.

On the other side grind all the thandai masala and keep aside.

Now boil milk in a deep bottom pan and add grinded thandai masala. Mix well and add rose water sugar and saffron milk.

Let it sit for an hour so that the flavours get absorbed in the milk. After an hour strain the milk well and add water and let it chill for a minimum of 5 hours.

Thandai taste best when chilled
